Image via WikipediaYep, Halloween is almost upon us...Aaaahhh... the childhood memories. Getting to go out with the parents to find a cool costume, then going crazy waiting three weeks until Halloween. Getting to use makeup when we were never allowed to. Almost hoping that it would rain to make trick-or-treating really creepy. Getting wet, chattering our teeth because we were too cold in our way too flimsy costumes, and not caring one bit about it. Now, here I am with a child of my own, and I get to relive it all over again!
In this day and age though, we always need to keep our eye on safety. Thusly, more and more parents are getting together and giving Halloween parties instead. Local townships are sponsoring Halloween celebrations in local parks, with law enforcement provided to keep our kids safe. It's really great that the county starting to get involved, and even though kids are out, they're all in one place and accounted for. But, there are plenty of places that still haven't jumped on the bandwagon, so parents are trying to get more creative on how to make fun, and safe.
